Michael Rapetti

**AKA "Big Kahuna"**
The Motoring Club was started in 2018 by Michael Rapetti, a car enthusiast working in the tech world at the time.
Having worked for a number of successful start-ups (including AdRoll, Marine Layer, Vroom and Twitter) he was tired of working for large companies that prioritized online experiences over in-person ones. The idea for The Motoring Club was an idea that many car enthusiasts have had through the years but didn’t seem to exist, a simple concept of a permanent cars and coffee type destination, a place for enthusiasts to gather 7 days a week in a casual environment. That dream led him to drop everything in New York, and pack up his truck to head out to LA. Once in LA, he set-out to immerse himself in the LA car culture and test if the concept had legs. After a year+ of pounding the pavement and hustling to execute on his vision, The Motoring Club was born in an 11k sq ft warehouse on the Westside of Los Angeles. Since the doors opened in May 2019, The Motoring Club community and brand has been growing and evolving. Today the team has grown to include these fine folks below ↓

TYLER ROSE

Head of Operations

Tyler comes to us from the big city of New York. He manages all operations across club and coffee along with “special” car projects. In his garage are an 997 911 and a couple of old BMWs.

Mike Perlman

General manager SF

Mike comes to us from Los Angeles to manage our new location in San Francisco. Mike comes from an automotive media and music/entertainment background. In his garage is an assortment of fully depreciated BMWs and Mercedes.

Liz Ishii

Merchandise + Production

With over 15 years of experience in product development, she brings a deep passion for creating quality products rooted in craftsmanship and design. From a young age, Liz developed a love for making things, sewing for as long as she can remember. Growing up in a family that manufactured car axles, her passion for cars naturally followed. Grateful to be able to combine these influences and be a part of The Motoring Club!

Carter Ray Schwarz

The rescue

Carter comes to us from the Motor City. Having worked in the automotive world as a graphic designer for the last several years he snuck in one day and hasn’t left… In his garage is a b-e-a-u-tiful 1995 E34 BMW 530i named “The Duchess”.
